Bedroom Furniture Cleaning Tips

Quality bedroom furniture is a significant investment expected to last for years. Thus to maintain its beauty and help it last, this furniture needs the right care.

There are many ways to keep your furniture bedroom pieces sparkling, but it will depend on the finish of your furniture. For example: a furniture with a gloss smooth finish requires polishing once a year to maintain the sheen while upholstery can be kept luscious with a few simple strategies. Follow are our bedroom furniture cleaning tips to help you keep your furniture as new.

  • Dusting is a must – Underestimating the effects of dusting and considering it to be important just once in a while, is a mistake of many. Whether it's an affordable furniture bedroom piece or an expensive master bedroom set, it should be dusted everyday once dusting eliminates the airborne deposits on the furniture. Regardless of your furniture bedroom material always use a soft cloth to dust it. You may damp it, but only slightly. Feather dusters are also available and may be the best thing when it comes to furniture dusting.
  • Cleaning – Using an all-purpose cleaning spray on your traditional furniture bedroom set is not recommended. Washing your wood furniture with water either. If there are some sticky stains on your modern metal beds, you can use soap and water meticulously. Use a soft cloth dipped in a water-soup mixture and wring it properly. Remember it should just be moist. Wipe the sticky area gently and immediately wipe the area with a dry soft cloth to remove any moisture.
  • Waxing – Wax meant exclusively for bedroom furniture cleaning comes in the form of liquid or paste. While paste wax finish usually last a couple of years, liquid wax finish requires a more frequent application. When compared to other polishes and sprays available on the market, waxing is better recommended as it gives a hard finish, does not smear and lasts longer. The best way to apply wax is in light coats as to much wax may leave streaks or hazy appearance on your furniture.

Usually furniture bedroom pieces come with guidelines for maintenance from the manufactures. If there are any specific guidelines mentioned, comply with them. Manufactures know better how to deal with the material they have used for creating the bedroom piece than you do.
