Curtains: Add texture and Make any room feel complete

There's a popular saying that the windows of a home represent it's eyes. In fact, the windows that I drew on houses as a kid always did look like eyes, and the door like the mouth. In order to properly “dress” those eyes, the greatest detail you can dress them with are fabulously hung curtains. This can make a huge difference in making your home feel spacious and flamboyant. During winter days , especially, using all the wall space above and around your windows will make a huge difference in making the interior look much more brighter.

Acquiring made to measure curtains will make sure that they are the right width and height. Hanging them as high as possible above the window frame is always a good idea. When considering width, however, you have to make sure they completely cover the windows, yet still look good when they are closed.

Aside from being great window dressers, they can have many useful benefits in being used as great room dividers. They are versatile and can divide a room in order to change it's ambiance and look, as well as create casual areas and privacy within the space when needed. On top of that, they can cover open shelves or any kind of visible storage that you find hard keeping organised, and is just messy most of the time. Made to measure curtains can cover up those shelves and effectively hide away all the mess.

Installing a curtain rod above the window makes the window look larger and the ceiling taller than in reality. If there are more windows on a single wall, having a curtain to cover all of them together in order to make the room look more spacious. When used in a bedroom, it can add attention to the bed, and when combined with the right colours, textures or patterns, it can definitely be a game changer in the bedroom.

The colour of the curtains should not match the colour of the wall paint, in order to avoid a monotonous atmosphere. For the best effect, choose a colour that is a tone or two darker than the wall colours to create more versatile look. If the curtains have patterns it will additionally spice up the look of the entire interior in your house.

To conclude, curtains are a more elegant and budget friendly solution to a window treatment, blinds can be great, but curtains are more convenient to maneuver, require less maintenance and make the interior of your home look very stylish and elegant.
